The Final Countdown ⏲️ 🐣
The past few weeks have been full of preparation, change and anticipation as we wait for the arrival of Baby Dulay!
The ECV Maneuver: Flipping Baby Dulay for a Smooth Landing
For those who don’t know, our little one had been hanging out in breech position, meaning she was feet-down instead of head-down—not ideal for landing on Earth! So, with the expert hands of our doctor, we went into the hospital on Valentine’s Day for an External Cephalic Version (ECV), a procedure where they not-so-gently guided the baby to flip into the right position.
Success! Baby Dulay is now officially lined up with the runway for a smooth landing any day now. ✈️ But we may have been secretly hoping for a Valentine’s day surprise. 💝
Maternity Leave Mode: Activated!
Now in the final stretch, Ericka has officially started maternity leave and is FINALLY nesting in our Beacon home. I’m loving her being at home because she is cooking up a storm for me! And perhaps best of all? I get to talk to someone who isn’t on a screen during the day! After years of remote work, actually having face-to-face conversations (with humans, not just Phoebe) has been a breath of fresh air.
Baby Dulay: Any Day Now!
We’re officially on baby watch— with the due date approaching this week we couldn’t be more excited (and maybe a little impatient) to finally meet our little girl.
Phoebe’s Big Sister Training
In a surprising turn of events, Phoebe, who is usually glued to me, has been way more attached to Ericka lately. It is as if she knows something big is about to happen. I’ve always believed dogs are smarter than humans in some ways and this just might be proof. For now, Phoebe is enjoying these last moments where she is the top dog!
